Did you know that Aviation Training One International is the only school that uses “PILOT TRAINING” call sign instead of the common aircraft’s tail number (registry no)?

Aviation Training One International is the only school approved by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) to use “PILOT TRAINING” call sign on its radiotelephony instead of the common aircraft’s tail number or registry no.  The objective are: (1) to maintain a unique distinction between the academy’s flight training operations and other aircraft in the airspace system, (2) to increase situational awareness to other air traffic that the aircraft using “PILOT TRAINING” call sign is operated under flight training operations.

Did you know that Aviation Training One International owns a Cessna 152 Aerobat with serial no next to William K. Kershner’s Cessna 152 Aerobat now in the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum?

The academy had purchased a 1979 Cessna 152 Aerobat with 1,600.0 hrs since new both on the airframe and powerplant.  The trainer is specifically for spins and upset recovery training for students and flight instructor applicants.  Basic aerobatic instruction is also provided in the Cessna 152 Aerobat.

The inception of having a Cessna 152 Aerobat started when the school director, Dan Bahinting, became a student of William K. Kershner, an author and an aviation legend.  He was encouraged to own an aerobat, therefore, it was a great honor to have one maintaining the
legacy of his mentor.

Did you know that the academy had produced 7 scholars since 1998?

As part of our philosophy of “giving back” we trained scholars who meet our criteria and have the potential to succeed.  These scholars are now working in the airline and corporate representing our name in the aviation industry.

Did you know of a Filipino who’s an ex F16 US Air Force Pilot with combat experience that is connected with Aviation Training One International?

Capt. Arvin N. Eslit has significant contribution to the academy’s flight training programs.  His experience as an ex F16 US Air Force Pilot with combat experience in Kosovo, Bosnia, and the Gulf War; Delta Airline Pilot and Corporate Aviation with different jet ratings had a profound effect on the development of our pilot trainees and graduates.

Did you know that it’s the only Philippine flight school that has a legendary 1947 Piper L-4J (Piper Cub) used for conventional or taildragger training?

The Piper L-4J is a legendary airplane used as reconnaissance during world war I. It was built by Piper Aircraft that gains reputation and household name as "Piper Cub".

The Piper L-4J that was restored and kept under the facility of the academy was the airplane used for solo flight by the director, Dan Bahinting, when he was 16 years old.  It resembles the era between the old and new school concept.


Did you know that Aviation Training One International is the only school in the Philippines that conducts Aviation Safety Seminar to the Aviation Community every year?

Since 1998, the academy had sponsored several aviation safety seminar to the General Aviation Community in the Visayas Region.  From then on, AOPA USA joined an effort last February 2006 to encourage further seminars for pilots, aircraft mechanics, and air traffic controllers.

Aviation Training One International is an advocate to "Green Environment" supporting the initiatives of Green Aviation International, a non-profit organization providing information and services to aid the reduction of pollution contributed by the aviation industry.  We encourage individuals and companies to be part of this program to preserve and maintain our planet Earth.

Did you know that its aircraft tail number starts with the number 7?

There's no magic on the no. 7, however, it represents our registry mark approved by the ICAO to use the "PILOT TRAINING" call sign instead of the "RP-C NO." call sign.

Did you know that the academy hires its own graduates?

We preferred to hire most of our graduates based on the trust and confidence we have on their training.  However, it does not imply that we don't accept potential applicants who got proper training from other school.
