If you got some experience in maintaining aircraft then sharing your knowledge and skills as an aircraft maintenance technician instructor is one way to further your career.  The love of teaching is a unique talent that not every mechanic has.  As an instructor you can also work in the flight line if the college offers some flight training programs.  Nevertheless, you’ll earn a decent salary if you’re a “top-notch” instructor. 

It’s also nice to become a pilot while working as an aircraft mechanic and an instructor.  Developing your career by taking further step does not only unleash your potential – it builds your resume.
