Fix Based Operators


You can also find employment in companies that provides services for local and transient aircraft.  Refueling, towing, mooring, periodic inspections, and other services catered by the FBO are handled by ground crew – aircraft mechanic.  Different types of aircraft from piston engines to turbine may be maintained by the FBO.  You may be assigned to other national or international locations of the company you’re working. 

Some FBO also sell aircraft parts and installation services to client's aircraft.  Depending on the services that your FBO renders, they might send you to some schools for specific training in the type of aircraft they maintain.  This is a good opportunity for you as an aircraft mechanic.
