How do I get started?
To obtain an Airframe & Powerplant Mechanic's License, you must enroll in an Aircraft Maintenance Technician Course accredited by the Civil Aviation Authority. After completion of the said program, you'll undergo an On-the-Job (OJT) training in an authorized aviation company such as flight school, FBO, airlines, or aircraft maintenance, repair, & overhauling stations to meet the requirements of the A & P Mechanic License.
What's the training like?
The training consists of academic and actual hands-on or laboratory. The academic subjects are arrange accordingly preparing the trainee for the actual hands-on tasks such as periodic inspection, airframe repair, assembly, engine overhaul, etc. Learning is more effective once the theoretical is put into practice immediately.
How do I get an Airframe & Powerplant Mechanic's License?
After you have completed all the necessary academic hours / units and the on-the-job training requirements then you’ll be eligible to apply for an A&P Mechanic’s License. You will undergo the required written, oral, and practical examinations conducted by the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines. You’ll be granted an A&P Mechanic’s License after successful completion of the said examinations.
Are there any job opportunities abroad?
There are limitless job opportunities around the globe. Remember that these opportunities are only offered to well-trained and experienced aircraft maintenance technicians. Most of the job requirements are for wide-body or transport category aircraft requiring conversion / modifications, maintenance check, servicing, overhaul, and other works. These opportunities may be in the formed of contractual or regular employment.
