Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get started?

You may take any college degree programs of your preference or enroll in a flight attendant course at any institution.  Taking flight attendant course is not mandatory and does not guarantee you to have a job in the corporate or airline companies.  Although it is an advantage to have a background, however, once you’re accepted by the airline then you’ll get all the necessary training for the flight attendant position.

What’s the training like?

The in-house training conducted by the airline runs from 4 to 6 weeks.  You’ll learn all the necessary skills such as customer service, first aid, emergency procedures, etc. relevant for a flight attendant job.

What are the real chances of getting hired by an airline?

The airline interview is a highly competitive business and only those well-prepared will make it pass the first interview.  Since there are many airlines around the world, you can submit your resume as many as you like.  Who knows, you’ll be accepted by one airline on your first interview.

Do airlines place newly hired flight attendants on international flights?

You’re under probationary period after you finish your initial flight attendant program in the airline. Therefore, you’ll be most likely assigned in the aircraft for domestic flight operations.

How do I get hired in the corporate?

Corporate usually fly CEOs and executives of a company.  Most of the flight attendants are free-lance but with experience in the field.

Do I still have the chance to be employed in the corporate or airline if I have body piercing and tattoos?

Most airlines will not allow visible tattoos or body piercings of any kind while working.  By all means, you should not attempt to interview until all piercings or tattoos are hidden or removed.

What are the height requirements to become a flight attendant?

There are no rules or regulations concerning height requirements, however, there are certain requirements or standards set by the airline company for their flight attendants.  These requirements including age, educational background, etc. are indicated in their hiring criteria when you apply.

Is it true that flight attendants are just like maid or mistress by pilots?

There are issues that ruin the perspective or image of a flight attendant.  This may be through media or any rumors that are half the truth.  No one can predict the conduct of individuals working in any field.  Therefore, judging that flight attendant career is like a maid or mistress by pilots is absolutely absurd.
