How do I get started?
There are two ways to become an air traffic controller.
You may enroll for a two or four year air traffic controller course at aviation colleges that offers this program. After you accomplished the academic training you may apply for internship at ATC facilities that accepts fresh graduates from your school. The experience you attain is required in attaining an ATC license.
You may also apply for an air traffic controller position (without prior experience) at the Civil Aviation Authority or Federal Aviation Administration in your country. There are certain requirements that you must meet such as a four year Bachelor’s degree, citizenship requirements, age, English proficiency requirements, and others.
Who’s my employer?
The Air Traffic Control Services is run and operated by the government either for civilian or military use. The civil or federal government of your country provides the employment opportunities for air traffic controllers. You may be assigned to work at different facilities and locations depending on the needs and availability.
How do I get an Air Traffic Controller’s License?
The age, academic, skills, and experience requirements differ from every country. You may request the eligibility requirements from the Civil Aviation Authority or Federal Aviation Administration to apply for an Air Traffic Controller’s License.
